Welcome! My name is Zdenka Fujs and I have been involved in mental health services since 2000. My practice largely focuses on creating a positive outlook on health and wellness.
As a therapist, I take great pride in guiding and teaching others the skills they need to dispel negative thoughts and habits when it comes to healthy living. I believe all individuals inherently know how to heal themselves but sometimes need guidance and support to get on track. |
My practice focuses on enabling clients to construct their own solutions for dealing with their challenges - which is largely done through self exploration and recognizing one's own self-healing capacities. Sessions are a creative, collaborative process between therapist and client.
Within the discipline of psychotherapy, there are numerous approaches to counselling. My therapeutic approach is based on an integrative model that incorporates a wide range of theories, methods and perspectives (such as psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour (CBT), mindfulness, interpersonal psychoanalysis, strength based, acceptance commitment (ACT) and behaviour modification). I tailor my treatments according to each client's needs. Goal setting and the development of coping skills are used to help influence patterns of thought and behaviour.
Sessions are held in office, however, I am a strong advocate of movement and also offer walk and talk therapy at the discretion of my clients. Walk and talk therapy allows clients to benefit from a powerful twofold treatment: combining counselling with movement in order to bring the body and mind together, and achieve wellness on a lasting level.
